Our third “Parking Lot” rehearsals and recording session
In November and December of 2021, James River Singers gathered once again in a church parking lot to rehearse and record another “concert” for our youtube channel. Thankfully, this proved to be our final outdoor recording session. James River Singers is very thankful to our director who came up with the idea of the “parking lot” rehearsals as a way to keep the choir moving forward and to the singers and accompanist who joyfully attended each rehearsal — as our teeth chattered, at times.

Our second “Parking Lot” rehearsals and recording session.
In the spring of 2021, James River Singers again gathered outside in a church parking lot for another 5 rehearsals and recording session; the final result can be found on our tube channel.
DECEMBER, 2020
Our first “Parking Lot” rehearsals and recording session.
James River Singers were unable to gather together in the spring of 2020. In an effort to maintain the vocal skills of our singers and bring joy to our singers and patrons, our artistic director led the James River Singers through 5 rehearsals and a recording session in November and December of 2020; the recording session was put on youtube. These rehearsals were held outside in a well-lit local church parking lot where the singers battled polar wind chill conditions, mist, and competed against emergency vehicle sirens, motorcycles, and song birds…all while reveling in the chance to be singing together again!
